Purnimaपूर्णिमा
The full moon day, the 15th tithi of Shukla Paksha.
Detailed Explanation
Purnima is the full moon day marking the culmination of Shukla Paksha (waxing fortnight). It is one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, ideal for religious ceremonies, charity, fasting, and spiritual practices. Each Purnima has a specific name and significance: Guru Purnima (honoring teachers), Buddha Purnima (Buddha's birth), Sharad Purnima (harvest moon celebration), Kartik Purnima (Deva Deepawali), and Holi Purnima. Purnima Vrat (full moon fasting) is observed by many Hindus, especially devotees of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The full moon's energy is considered sattvic (pure) and conducive to heightened spiritual awareness.
